This process is primarily
used for items which require many copies to be made on materials that cannot
be printed by offset presses.
The inks
have excellent outdoor durability and are well suited for long term
use.
A film
positive with the desired image is placed onto a specially coated screen that
is stretched across a metal frame and then exposed to high intensity light
leaving open and blocked areas on the screen.
| Blank
pieces are placed into position and then printed by forcing ink through
the openings in the screen mesh by using a squeegee.
Each
colour is printed one at a time for as many copies that are required. There
is no limitation to how many spot (solid) colours are printed.
Photographic
images can be produced by way of 4 colour process printing which is a method
of separating any image into its 4 process colours (CMYK) and then layering
each process colour onto each other to achieve the full colour finished
product.
